Our Vision:

As a ministry to children and to those ministering  to children, we strive to see men and women cultivate a life of devotion to the Lord by strengthening believers and seeking the lost.  We desire to see the body unified, through service and fellowship, as people are loved and encouraged by each other (Ephesians 4).  We value encouragement, receiving from the lord and pouring out into others; intentional living, in all things; equipping families, providing resources and support to raise Godly men and women; and a constant acknowledgement and reverence for the Cross (Psalm 127).  The means to get to those ends are solid bible teachings, lives devoted to prayer, freedom in worship, and a love for people.  We desire to see each child to live out his or her calling for the Kingdom, starting now.

Children’s Ministry on Sunday Morning:

New! Fall 2011

Fall Curriculum: Our God

Unit Overview

For the entire Fall season (September to February), all children will be learning about different character traits of Our God.  By reading scripture and stories from the Bible, they will learn a characteristic of God, examples and verses on that trait, and the calling on their lives to also live this way.  This way, the children are doing three things: 1. Learning about who God is and what He has done for His people, 2. Always remembering the Cross and sacrifice given for our salvation, and 3. The higher calling on our lives, as Christians, to be like God and let His light shine to the ends of the earth! For children under age 3, specific verses and passages about God's character are prayed over our children each week and are the focus of dicussion, song, and prayer in the classrooms.

The Nest

10:15-Noon

ages 0 months-15 months

The Nursery at CFCF

A typical Sunday morning in the Nest:

Babies age 0-20 months can be dropped off 15 minutes before the service begins or at any time during the service.  The classroom consists of two rooms.  One room is supervised and stocked with pack and plays and noise machines for parents who would like to put their babies down for a nap during the service.  The other room is great for babies who want to play and socialize and is also set up with a changing table and a nursing area that any parent can use at any point during the service. Our nursery staff is made up trained volunteers and parents who are excited to love and pray for your children during their time in the nursery.

The Acorn Room

10:15-Noon

ages 15 months-24 months

A typical Sunday morning in the Acorn Room:

Mobile babies are welcomed into a room with plenty of space for walking, running, and jumping! This classroom was created  as a special place for active babies that are not quite 2 years old, and provides space for these new walkers to explore their environment in a safe and fun way. They are able to enjoy free play activities with the trained volunteers, including a tunnel, blocks, and books. Cheerios and bananas are provided for snack. Water is permitted.

The Tree House

10:15-Noon

ages 24 months-3 years

A typical Sunday morning in the The Tree House:

Toddlers are welcomed into a room with various welcome centers by a lead teacher and the trained volunteers. Through play, the children learn language and social skills in a loving environment.  The play kitchen is set up for grocery shopping and cooking, and there are blocks for building tall towers together. The theme of community is maintained through circle time and monthly bible story lesson each week. Cheerios and bananas are provided for snack. Water is permitted.

The Oak Room

Post Worship (11:00-Noon)

ages 3-5 years

A typical Sunday morning in the Oak Room:

After worship, preschoolers line up in the hallway and say good-bye to mom or dad!  They march down to the classroom and choose a welcome center: play dough, dramatic play, books, coloring, or another area prepared by the lead teacher. Circle time consists of prayer, a global missions piece, bible story, and life application discussion, followed by a craft or activity. Cheerios and bananas are provided for snack time. Water is permitted.

Kingdom Kids

Post Worship (11:00-Noon)

Kindergarten through 5th grade

A typical Sunday morning with Kingdom Kids:

Children ages 5 and up are released from the Sanctuary and welcomed by the Kingdom Kids' staff. They gather together and engage in a lesson-related game or physical activity before sitting down to watch a skit and discuss their lesson in a small group setting.  They hear Bible verses to learn and memorize, as well as pray for each other and friends and family.

Other Opportunities for Our Children:

Kid's Encounter Night (quarterly scheduled Sunday evenings, 5-7PM)

A time for children ages three to twelve to gather together for worship and a specialized topic and that draws our hears nearer to Christ!  Past topics: Dance Worship, Evangelism at the Park, and Bible Study through Video. (Childcare is provided for children under age 3).
